One of the most exciting aspects about the Summer Arts Conservatory is the wide range of daily classes!
Each day, the students will rotate through 8 different classes: 5 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon. Mornings allow the students to explore all of the departments while the afternoon classes focus on a single department.
Every morning, all of the students will have the opportunity to take a class in each of the 5 departments offered at LACHSA.
In the afternoons, students will report to their chosen department.
Departments are selected by campers when they register and cannot be changed once the camp has begun.
Once students have been grouped by age and/or experience into their chosen departments, campers take three Conservatory Intensives in that specific department.
Each of the afternoon Conservatory Intensives are fifty minutes in length and are outlined here by department:
Music Video Intensive
Short Film Intensive
Music Theory Intensive
Stage Combat Intensive
Scene Study Intensive
Please note - it is important to drop your child off on time in the morning. Chronic tardiness in the morning can affect your child's ability to participate fully in the classes offered in each department.
Students are grouped by age and rotate through 5 different classes throughout the morning.
Each of the morning classes is forty minutes long and is listed here by department:
Morning Care (FREE)
Camp Clean Up
Afternoon Care (FREE)
To give you a better idea of your camper's daily schedule, we've outlined a sample schedule here!
In addition to the 8 classes through which your child will rotate every day, the students also have a 10 minute nutrition break in the morning and and a 15 minute nutrition break in afternoon as well as an hour long lunch.
Plus, we offer free before and after care beginning at 7:30 am and ending at 5:30 pm for busy parents!
Please note that the schedule listed here is only a SAMPLE rotational order and the final rotational order will not be determined until all of the student slots at the camp have been filled.
